Virginia Beach

After taking care of some of the house business, we took off to Virginia Beach this past weekend. In about 2 hours we were on the beach. It was nice to just drive up, park, and walk onto the beach. The water was quite cold, but it was still a lot of fun. We laid around on the beach for a while then walked on the boardwalk. They have a nice boardwalk there that stretches a few miles. It has a bike path as well as a walking path. There were restaurants and condos along the boardwalk and then shops on the street over. We found a place to get some shrimp right on the boardwalk which was fun to sit and watch the water and the people as they went by. We even saw some surfers, although the waves weren't that big. We got some huge waffle cones at the Ben & Jerry's on the beach. It was so good! I think we will be visiting there quite often. It was an easy little day trip. We took the camera but didn't bring it out to the beach. We'll have to make some pictures next time we go!
